About the Studio

Rooted in both artistic exploration and functional design, MATÉRIA PRIMA Atelier de Cerâmica embodies an ongoing dialogue between material, form, and everyday use. Rinat’s path to ceramics grew out of years of experience in visual arts and design, particularly architecture. In clay, she discovered a medium where conceptual thinking meets a tactile process—where expressive gestures coexist with structure and purpose. Each piece begins with a guiding idea, often shaped by themes and imagery that inform the work. Ceramic objects become surfaces for imprinting, tracing, and embedding visual narratives, transforming functional forms into vessels of meaning. At the same time, a deep respect for craftsmanship and the integrity of the material remains central to the practice. Every object is carefully considered—designed to be both used and kept, quietly accompanying daily rituals over time. Alongside her studio practice, Rinat leads courses and workshops, creating a space for learning, experimentation, and shared making. The studio is an evolving environment, where new techniques are continuously developed—both through personal exploration and as a foundation for teaching others.
